Budget Bride

I’m obsessed with a good deal. Always have been! I love to shop and what I have found over the past few years that I prefer quality over quantity when it comes to my wardrobe. With that said, when I can find a deal on something classic, beautiful, and designer!?! I’m so there!! When I heard that Vera Wang was creating a line for David’s Bridal I was so excited I almost peed my pants. White by Vera Wang is incredible, like I wish I could get married again and wear one of these incredible dresses. Holy bananas!! If you haven’t checked out these gowns, do it... like right now! Go!! So using one of my favorite pieces from the collection I have put together a beautiful and complete look for under 950 dollars!! Whoo-Hoo!!!
Dress, White by Vera Wang $728; Sash, White by Vera Wang $78; Shoes, Aldo $90; Earrings, $45.

Unexpected Jewels

It’s no secret that I am obsessed with anything quirky or unique!!! I think that fun jewelry is a great way to add a small touch of your personality to your wedding day. Your jewels can be so much fun and I think if you want to do something a little out of the box this is the perfect thing, because it’s small and non-distracting, but still a piece of your personality coming out!! I love the idea of rock ‘n’ roll chic, so gold skulls or lots of cool thin chains. I love the theme of birds, so free and beautiful, exactly how you should feel on your wedding day!! Keys are also a fun theme, your man holds the key to your heart and all that other cheesy stuff!! Quirky is also fun, so the amazing cameo earrings or the brilliant embroidered oui earrings, I die! Even something as simple as the silhouette of the kissing kids is fun, but simple! Unexpected wedding jewelry doesn’t have to be crazy or off the wall, a brilliant white resin chain necklace, a bold abstract cuff, or even simple intertwined circles are just different enough that you will stand out from your average strand of pearls. Never be scared to let your personality show!!!

Celebrity Inspiration: Anne Hathaway in Valentino

13.002 Dress, BHLDN; Shoes, Mark & James; Bracelet, Erickson Beamon; Headpiece, BHLDN

I blogged about this on LaurenLanzaOsias because that’s how obsessed I am with this gown!! This is the beautiful gown that Valentino works painstakingly on in his documentary Valentino: The Last Emperor. If you have any interest in fashion I highly recommend watching the film. But when searching for a gown that evokes the same etherial fairy princess whatnot, look for gowns with interesting appliqués and use of fabric. A fitted bodice is a must with this look. The shoes should be pretty and simple. Find one large statement cuff and a pretty, detailed headdress to complete this look. I would take a hint from Anne and go with simple clean makeup, a great bold lip and a delicately painted cat eye.

Celebrity Inspiration: Emma Watson in Elie Saab

13.001 Dress, Justin Alexander; Shoes, Steve Madden; Earrings, JCrew.

Hermione Granger is all grown up and is super hot... I love this look because it has a retro vibe, but still comes across glamourous and chic. It’s important when wearing this style to have a cinched waist. The appliques around the bodice and waist can make you look bigger if there isn’t an incredibly defined waist. A pair of nude satin pumps will elongate your legs and some bling make them even more fun!!!! Keep accessories simple and easy. Even hair and makeup should be understated. It’s all about the dress.

Celebrity Inspiration: Blake Lively in Marchesa

13.005 Dress, Temperly London; Shoes, Enzo Angiolini, Earrings, Dannijo; Sash, Serendipity Bridal

How fabulous is this gown!?! Right? It’s like this amazing 70’s chic. This Temperly London gown gives the same asymmetrical look minus the bling, so I would add a ridiculously embellished belt around the waist, sparkly drop earrings, and a glitzy shoe to give that wow factor. This is such a great look, I think it would work for so many ages and body types.

An Amazingly Chic Budget Wedding Look

budgetchic.001 What if I told you that it was absolutely possible to rock a stunning look on your big day for a bit more than 500 bucks!? Would you believe me? Well, believe it. I’m a huge fan of David’s Bridal in the past 5 years they have done a major revamp and added tons of stylish and chic gowns and accessories to their lineup. Their specialty lines like Galina go way above “budget” gown shopping. And I know Forever21 evokes thoughts of super cheap trendy clothing, but I’ve found that their jewelry is perfect for a lady shopping on a budget, including a bride. Sparkle is sparkle.

Gown: Galina for David’s Bridal     $450

Earrings: Forever21                     $2.80

Bracelets: Forever21                    $5.80, $8.80, $6.80

Hairclips: Forever21                    $3.00

Shoes: Caparros                         $41.00

Grand Total - $518.20

In this look, no one would suspect that you were on a budget. If you are looking to spend a wee bit more, White by Vera Wang for David’s Bridal starts around 600, up to 1400 dollars. These gowns are insanely chic and evoke the feel of Wang’s couture collections on a budget. I can’t wait to blog about them ;)

I’ve got your “something blue” right here...

So, I am BEYOND obsessed with Anthropologie’s new wedding site BHLDN. I mean, come on, absolutely everything on the site is beautiful... everything. I want to get married all over again and I want to get everything from this site. True Story. Now, I am shocked how almost reasonably priced the site is, considering that Anthro is out-of-this-world-expensive. But I was thinking about fun ways to wear blue and this site has some many ah-mazing choices, I had to feature it. So here are some quirky and character filled ways to wear your something blue.

The Birthstone Briolette charms can add color to the Base Chains for a necklace or on earrings, such as the Bella Chameleon Hoops. The Garden Party Chandelier Earrings are a gorgeous, colorful choice as well.

Wedding Style with Stella & Dot Jewelry

Hi everyone, I’m Kristen. As a past bride working with Morgan Gallo Events, I had so much fun planning and styling my wedding! One of the most exciting parts of the wedding prep is deciding on what to wear—from the dress and the shoes to the jewelry! Finishing your look—those final touches and details—is really what can make an impression and tie the look of your entire wedding together. My love of jewelry and the perfect details led me to become a Stylist with Stella and Dot. As a Stylist I get to try on jewelry, hang out with friends during trunk shows… it’s perfect!

How will you style your wedding look? Stella and Dot has plenty of options! And… you can earn FREE jewelry by hosting a trunk show (the average hostess earns about $250 in free jewelry). What a fabulous option for a bride to be! Wedding jewelry… bridesmaids gifts… honeymoon bling!? YES PLEASE!

Now for some of my own suggestions and recommendations

Are you going for a classic look? Go for pearls!

clip_image002clip_image004clip_image006clip_image008

(the Pearl and Pave Rope Necklace; Fresh Water Pearl Dangles; La Coco Silver Pearl Strand; Vintage Starburst Brooch which can clip right onto the La Coco Silver Pearl Strand!)

You can also go for pearls with more drama...

Add some bling to your pearls or just in general!

Find of the Week: Jewelmint

Jewelmint   So, I am OBSESSED with this site. The ah-mazing Kate Bosworth and her long time stylist Cher Coulter have created this genius site where you can buy the most stunning jewelry all for 30 bucks!!! That’s right, every single piece is 30 dollars. Basically, you sign up and take a style quiz and every month you get an email that is catered to your style for you to choose from. And yes, every piece is 30 dollars. So, while it’s a monthly club, you are not obligated to purchase a piece every month if you aren’t loving your selection. There is always free shipping and easy exchanges. LOVE. join-jewelmint-kate-bosworth-cher-coulters-jewelry-club

I am just floored by the prices. The jewelry is GORGEOUS. I ordered a pair of earrings for my best friend and I was a little worried about the quality, but OMG they were beautiful. The packaging is just genius. I am really a huge fan. I think that with the help of this site I will slowly grow my jewelry collection. So brides, be on the look out for wedding day jewels and at these low prices, don’t forget to look for bridesmaids gifts.

Real Savannah Wedding: Amanda and Joey Part 1-Ceremony

IMG_4185

Oh where to begin??? This one is sure to blow you out of your seat! Amanda and Joey were married on August 7, 2010 in beautiful downtown Savannah. Their Savannah wedding was truly unique and expressed a vintage garden feel in all aspects of the wedding. Amanda wore an amazing Nicole Miller dress we feel in love with at Bleubelle Bridal and accented them with these fabulous accessories. Her necklace was even made by her mother! They wanted to use the beautiful garden as their backdrop to both their ceremony and reception and with the help of the OH SO FABULOUS Kiwifleur we really made the space intimate and easy to transform when guests went inside the house for cocktail hour. Using wooden crates we found at a local craft store they were stained to look vintage and filled with overflowing flowers and green apples. Iron cages were filled with flowers, strands of pearls and peacock feathers and were hung at different heights from the trees that canopied the base of the steps where the couple married. Baby’s breath garland swaged the steps along with lanterns. Could it look anymore beautiful??? And who other than the AAAAAMazing Shannon Christopher to be there capturing each and every moment!
