{make it your own} MONDAY :: incorporating your love of books.

happy monday, everyone!

after seeing this library inspired baby shower today, i started to daydream about a library themed wedding...

these silhouettes would be fabulous as a cake topper {!} or on the guest book table. bonus points if they are rendered from an actual photo of the couple and if the book used is one of the couple's favorites ;)

maybe use the couple's initials or wedding date instead of "love"?

i can't think of a sweeter way to repurpose old, once-loved books than as table runners!

these table arrangements are too sweet. i'd add in some votives & bud vases with lush, neutral peonies or fun dahlias in bright colors to complete the look! p.s.: we here at mge do have plain books available for you to rent if you're into this sort of centerpiece - just ask!

if real flowers aren't quite your style, make a bouquet of newspaper or book blooms! you could also just toss a few into your real flower bouquet, or use them as table decor instead.

book pages can be torn out, folded in cone shapes, taped & house confetti {or birdseed! or glitter! or mini poms!} for guests to throw on the happy couple ;)

and last, but not least - this fabulous dessert table display includes a backdrop of mini paper cranes folded from old book pages AND a cool chandelier-esque vintage book display. how cool is that?!

thoughts? concerns? questions?

let me know in the comments!

as always, have a beautiful day.

XO,

Trending Tuesday: 7 Unique Guest Book Ideas

Everybody’s got one. They’re always there. Wouldn’t it be nice if yours was so awesome you wanted to display it or even hang it on your wall!? So in lieu of your run of the mill white satin-y lined book with one of those gross pen holder things, you know? The pen that NEVER works, let’s get creative and make your guest book excited and you!!!

Take a favorite photo and have it turned into a puzzle! Then have your guest sign the back of the pieces!!

Have your guests sign there names on their birthdays in a beautiful calendar! Not only do you have a great memento, you also have all your guests birthdays!

photo via
I LOVE Polaroid cameras. Have 1 or 2 and plenty of film out for your guests to take pics and then place and sign in a scrapbook! Guaranteed to be a blast to look through!!

How adorable is this!?!? Set out paint pens and a variety of creative dishes for your guests to sign and after you can arrange them on a wall in your home! Stunning!!

JENGA!! I am just obsessed with this. Have your guests sign pieces of a Jenga set and every time you bust out the party games you will remember your wedding day!!
photo via
Have guest sign a giant bottle of your fave wine or champagne with paint pens!! If you use a full bottle you can drink at your first year anniversary or whenever you want to celebrate!!

Have your guests highlight or circle words in a dictionary that evoke the feeling of your wedding day and sign! What a cool thing to show your future bambinos!!?

So, the sky’s the limit when it comes to brilliant guest book ideas!!!

Be Unique. Be Yourself.

Real Savannah Wedding: Melanie and Kenny Part 3-Reception

For the reception tables, different shades, finishes, and widths of ribbon were layered on top of each other to give the table visual interest.  In order to create balance, we kept the florals all in neutral whites.  During the cocktail hour, different color mason jars adorned the tables with images of family and the couple tucked inside.  To add a little bit of whimsy and fun to the décor, we hired a chalk artist to draw in area rugs for the outdoor lounge area.  Combined with bright pops of uplighting and comfortable seating surrounding the fire pits, the lounge areas became the place to be!

Melanie was a very DIY bride and fell in love with map everything!  She introduced this into the design with map paper cutouts in the shape of hearts that she turned into garland that adorned chandeliers in the space, map paper mache initials that were hung as decoration, table numbers that were comprised of green numbers on map backgrounds, and the sweetest map detail of all…map cuff links for Kenny that had Savannah as the spot on the map.

The wonderful evening was capped off by one of the most fun grand exits to date.  Each guests received a white balloon upon exiting the reception.  Melanie and Kenny then ran through the balloons to meet the pedi cab that awaited them.  It was so fun to see all the white balloons fly away.  It was an absolutely magical way to end a spectacular, fun evening.

All our best to one of our favorite couples--we were honored to have shared in your planning and wedding day. You are forever in our hearts!
xoxo

Real Savannah Wedding: Ally and Troy Part 3-Reception

Now all the goodies for Ally and Troy’s wedding. You are going to love the romantic feel with some fall details thrown in! The fingerprint guest book and the postcard mailbox for guests to leave the couple a note were adorable! This is a prime example of a “less is more” kind of wedding. The real shocker (not really if you knew them) is the amazing Florida Gators cake! The ambiance was breath-taking with all the candles, roses and moss. They had such a great time with their guests and truly enjoyed every minute of their wedding…and we loved that we were able to share it with them! All our best Ally and Troy—here is to many MANY more amazing memories as Mr. and Mrs. xooxxoxowed-130wed-1176wed-1258wed-1147wed-1148wed-1150wed-1149wed-1167wed-1170wed-1161wed-1166wed-1156wed-1180wed-1184wed-1134wed-1358wed-1404wed-1108
